Freckles are small, flat, brown spots that develop on skin that is exposed to sun.
What causes freckles?
Freckles are the result of an overproduction of melanin post ultraviolet stimulation of the skin. People with red or blonde hair and fair skin are very commonly prone to freckles. They appear on individuals’ mid and upper face, but can appear on other parts of the body exposed to the sun. Genetics play a huge role in getting freckles.
