Visible facial veins and visible leg veins are actually dilated blood vessels due to the weakening of the elastic fibres in the walls of the blood vessel. The exact causes are unclear however, certain factors contribute to their development including heredity, sun damage, pregnancy, hormonal factors, weight gain, occupations or activities that require prolonged sitting or standing, and trauma.
Candela GentleLASE as an effective treatment
Candela GentleLASE is effective on vessels to a depth of 1.5mm and is designed to target a component of blood called Haemoglobin. Vascular lasers destroy the blood vessel while leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed. The side effect of laser therapy is generally a temporary purple pigmentation of the skin (purpura), similar to bruising. The purpura usually resolves in a day or two.
The Candela GentleLASE produces an intense but gentle burst of light, that selectively destroys the blood vessels of your spider veins, without damaging the surrounding tissue. After treatment, the vessels slowly and naturally disappears.
How many treatments will I need?
Laser treatments are typically done at four to eight week intervals. Depending on your skin type, size of the vein and how your vessels react, several treatments may be required. Smaller veins respond more quickly to treatment. Most clients will require one to three treatments.
Are the results permanent?
Yes, in most cases the vascular lesions are permanently removed however, you may require an additional 1-2 treatments to maintain a fresh appearance.
Can I be sure this will work on my veins?
This is something that must be determined with each client individually. Generally, all small red and blue veins on the face, upper body and legs achieve very good results.
